FAQs

How are products shipped?

For Wine Shipments

All our products are shipped directly from Palmaz Vineyards. Shipments are prepared every Monday and Tuesday. To protect the bottles, the wines are packaged in styrofoam shippers. During warmer months packages are delivered via Fed Ex Cold Chain to ensure that the wines are not temperature abused during transit.

We recommend that the wines be shipped to an address where someone is present during the day to sign for the package and ensure the wines are not left exposed to the elements during the day.

Recipients must be 21 or older, the carrier requires an adult signature at time of delivery.

For Beef Shipments

All our beef is shipped from our fulfillment center by the ranch team, as a result shipments are made on Tuesdays only. Each cut is vacuum packaged, frozen and then hand wrapped in butcher paper. The cuts are then placed in an insulated shipper with dry ice and ice packs. We ship all packages via Fed Ex 2-Day air. Do not be alarmed if the package arrives without dry ice. As long as the cuts are still frozen or partially frozen the meat is in good condition. We recommend that you do not remove the butcher paper when storing in your freezer to protect the vacuum seals.

Why are there size variations in the cuts of beef?

On the ranch we are committed to producing the finest quality of beef in the most sustainable and humane way possible. As a result the animals are raised to maximize the marbling and tenderness rather than consistency of size. Each steak is hand cut and efforts are made to make every cut the same size, however individual steak size and dimensions may vary slightly.

How long can I store the beef?

We recommend that all beef be stored frozen for up to 1 year if the vacuum seal is still intact. If the vacuum seal is compromised we recommend that you use that cut within the month.

Once thawed we recommend to store the cut in the refrigerator and prepare within 3 days.

How do you recommend to best thaw the meat?

We recommend to allow the cut you plan to prepare to thaw gently overnight in the refrigerator in a bowl. For larger pieces it may take a bit more time to defrost completely.
